Ocean’s Bleached Reefs.
This footage captures an underwater view featuring Acropora finger corals with noticeable bleaching along their edges. The corals display a gradient of color, from healthy brown and yellow hues to sections that are stark white from the stress of bleaching. In the background of this shot, a dense coral landscape can be seen, with clusters of various coral types adding depth and diversity to the scene. Shades of green and darker browns from other coral species provide a vivid backdrop, showing sections that appear less affected by bleaching. Small fish are visible around the corals, navigating the reef, though they remain close to the healthy and bleached corals alike. This shot shows the resilience and vulnerability of the reef.
Video of Colorful Corals Dying From Bleaching in Deep Colder Waters.
This close-up footage was captured in ultra-high-definition 4K and available in HD (1080p), it was shot using the finest professional cameras and gear used by skillful scuba divers. Provided as free stock footage to raise awareness about coral bleaching, this video is offered in both landscape (16:9 aspect ratio) and vertical (9:16 aspect ratio) formats, making it suitable for use across platforms like Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, as well as widescreen presentations. Its quality and versatility make it ideal for environmental campaigns, NGO projects, documentaries, and educational materials focused on coral conservation and marine climate science.
While coral bleaching is commonly associated with warm, tropical reefs, cold-water and deep-water reefs are not immune to this phenomenon. Cold-water corals, often found at greater depths and in cooler climates, have also begun to exhibit signs of bleaching due to environmental stressors. Factors such as fluctuations in ocean temperatures, increased CO₂ levels, and shifts in nutrient availability can disrupt the fragile balance needed for coral health, even in these colder, deeper environments. Bleaching in cold-water reefs is particularly concerning, as these corals grow more slowly than their tropical counterparts and are therefore less resilient to repeated stress events.
