The Cinque Torri, or "Five Towers," is a prominent rock formation located in the heart of the Dolomites in northern Italy. These towering limestone spires rise dramatically from the surrounding landscape, reaching heights of up to 2,361 meters (7,746 feet) above sea level. The Cinque Torri formation consists of five main towers, each characterized by its unique shape and geological features. The tallest tower, known as Torre Grande, stands approximately 100 meters (328 feet) tall, while the other four towers vary in height but are equally impressive in their stature. The geological origins of the Cinque Torri date back millions of years to the Triassic period when the region was submerged under a shallow sea and subjected to intense tectonic forces that shaped the rugged terrain we see today.
