Underwater Bleaching Severe Effects.

In this underwater clip, various coral species are highlighted, showcasing different textures and signs of bleaching. The Acropora finger coral features delicate white branches that stand out against the blue ocean. Nearby, the Coeloseris coral presents a rounded, bumpy pattern in soft yellow and green. Clusters of Porites coral add texture with their knobby formations, while small black and orange fish swim around them. A larger dark-colored fish glides adding motion to the video. In the background, more coral species blend into the darker rocky base, with clear water enhancing the visibility of distant marine life and the diversity of coral structures in this footage.

This impactful footage of a mix of bleached corals was filmed in stunning 4K (2160p) and HD (1080p) resolutions, this free stock footage offers clear detail and is available in both landscape (16:9 aspect ratio) and vertical (9:16 aspect ratio) formats, making it versatile for widescreen viewing and social media platforms such as Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Its high-quality visuals make it an excellent choice for environmental campaigns, NGO projects, documentaries, and educational content centered on coral conservation and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems.

Coral species react differently to bleaching, affecting their chances of survival and recovery. Acropora corals are very sensitive to bleaching. Their thin tissues and high energy needs mean they rely heavily on algae for nutrients. Just a small rise in temperature can cause them to lose these algae quickly. Coeloseris, or brain coral, is moderately sensitive. Its thicker tissues give it a bit more tolerance to temperature changes, but it can still bleach under stress. If conditions improve quickly, Coeloseris can recover better than Acropora, but it is not as strong as some other corals. Porites coral is one of the strongest. Its thick tissues and low energy needs help it handle short-term temperature rises better than Acropora and Coeloseris.
